  – Inhibit topoisomerase IV enzyme, which separates the two interlinked DNA during bacterial replication.

Indications:

For the treatment of:

  – CRD

  – E.Coli

  – Salmonella

  – Fowl cholera

  – Infectious coryza

Advantages:

• Difloxacin acts as an immunomodulator, as it accumulates in macrophages (MQ) and enhances their phagocytic activity.
• It has no adverse effects on the kidneys.
• Safe for use during viral infections, as it does not suppress the immune system.
• It exhibits a Post-Antibiotic Effect (PAE) against Gram -ve bacteria that lasts up to 8 hours, preventing bacterial regrowth for extended periods.
• The withdrawal period for meat is 1 day.
